Primary Challenge

The real estate and property management company had already implemented Power BI but encountered several obstacles. The employees were in the early stages of developing their report-building skills and were working to fully leverage Power BI’s capabilities. They were in the process of enhancing their understanding of best practices, guidelines for creating and sharing reports, setting up security, designing data models, and standardizing naming conventions. Improving standardization would facilitate better collaboration and make it easier for departments to understand and further develop each other’s reports.

Our Approach

We provided comprehensive support to standardize and enhance their use of Power BI across the company. This included:

  1. Standardization and Best Practices:

    • Developed and implemented best practice guidelines for report building, sharing, and security.

    • Established naming conventions and standardized data model designs.

  2. Training and Workshops:

    • Conducted extensive workshops and training sessions for different departments.

    • Created detailed training materials and blueprints to ensure consistent report structures.

    • Provided hands-on support, being available regularly to assist with report building and review.

  3. Ongoing Support and Development:

    • Offered continuous training and support to ensure the team could independently build and manage reports.

    • Helped employees transition from a trial-and-error approach to a structured, principle-driven method.

Our intervention led to significant improvements in the company’s use of Power BI:
